Addis Ababa, September 22, 2023 (Addis Walta) United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, said that the United Nations will continue its support to Ethiopia.
The Secretary-General received, the Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Demeke Mekonnen, at his office in New York, on the side of the 78th Unite Nations General Assembly (UNGA78).
The Secretary-General expressed his commitment to strengthening the UN-Ethiopia ties as the country is a key player in the multilateral system.
Demeke expressed his appreciation to the UN and the Secretary-General, particularly for his personal dedication to supporting Ethiopia during the past challenging times, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.
Demeke briefed Guterres about the implementation of the peace agreement and called on the global body to support the reconstruction, rehabilitation efforts, and other humanitarian issues.
