MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s former President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed on Saturday called for a thorough investigation into an Al-Shabaab attack in the central region of Galgadud that caused significant number of fatalities.
The former President sent condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the assault on Osweyne, a village which had been recovered by the army a few days ago.
Sharif said “many soldiers lost their lives” in the attack despite state media reports that militants were repelled. He also sent congratulations to the army on the capture of the strategic town of Elbur.
