MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Tuesday received diplomatic credentials from the new ambassadors of Djibouti, Canada and Cuba, his office said.
The ambassadors of Canada Christopher Thornley, Cuba Manuel Rodriguez and Djibouti Mohamed Ibrahim Yusuf presented their credentials at a ceremony held in the Somali presidential palace.
It is the first time Cuba and Canada have appointed ambassadors to Somalia since the Horn of Africa country’s military government collapsed in 1991.
