MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Heavy fighting again erupted in the town of Lasanod on Saturday following US calls for ceasefire and threats of visa restrictions against those fueling the four-month-old conflict.
Images circulated online showed a former MP with Puntland regional parliament Farah Dalmar captured by Somaliland troops during battles on the outskirts of the town.
Somaliland military claimed that allied “terrorists” and Puntland regional forces attacked its positions on Saturday and that its troops were able to repulse the assault.
