MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Local forces in the town of Lasanod have imposed a night curfew to tighten security after weeks of fierce clashes with Somaliland troops.
Authorities said the curfew starting from 9pm until 5am is aimed at beefing up security in the war-hit city. The local forces have also banned the use of alcohol in the town, warning that anyone found smuggling it into the city will be brought to justice.
Fighting has lulled over the past days though combatants are still holding rival positions on the outskirts of the strategic town.
