MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Thursday received the speaker of the East African legislative assembly at his office, months after Somalia had joined the regional economic bloc.
Mohamud “received Hon. Joseph Ntakirutimana, the Speaker of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), at Villa Somalia Presidential Palace,” his office said in a statement on X.
“They discussed Somalia’s EAC integration and advancing regional legislative cooperation through the EAC Parliament.”
The speaker of Somali parliament Adan Mohamed Nur (Madobe) was also in attendance at the meeting.
