Addis Ababa, May 7, 2024(Addis Walta) The governments of Russia and the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe have signed an agreement on military cooperation.
The agreement states that the two sides have agreed to cooperate in the following areas: joint training of troops, recruitment of armed forces, use of weapons and military equipment, logistics, exchange of experience and information in the framework of countering the ideology of extremism and international terrorism, education and training of personnel.
In addition, the agreement between the two countries provides for participation in military exercises and presence at them as observers, visits of military aviation, as well as visits of warships and vessels.
The document notes that military cooperation between the countries “contributes to strengthening peace and international stability.”
