Mogadishu, Somalia (SONNA) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, Ambassador Ahmed Macallin Fiqi, formally received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan, Abdurahman Khalil Ahmed Abakr.
During the cordial meeting, both parties showed the importance of bolstering the long-standing relations between Somalia and Sudan. Discussions centered around enhancing cooperation and fostering strong ties that will benefit both nations.
Minister Fiqi reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations with Sudan, applauding the remarkable efforts and achievements of the Sudanese government. “Somalia is steadfast in its resolve to strengthen our partnership with Sudan. The cooperation between our nations is pivotal for regional stability and prosperity,” he stated.
In his address, Minister Fiqi expressed his best wishes for Ambassador Abakr’s success in his new role and highlighted the importance of Sudan’s unity, peace, and stability. “We recognize the significance of a united Sudan, and we support its journey towards lasting peace and stability,” he added.
The ceremony marked a renewed dedication to collaborative efforts and mutual support between the two nations, promising a future of strengthened diplomatic relations and shared progress.
