Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Family Affairs and Human Rights of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, welcomed the Swedish Ambassador to Somalia, H.E. Joachim Waern, to her office. The meeting was attended by the Director General of the Ministry, Mohamed Bashir Omar, and ministry experts, focused on strengthening collaboration between Somalia and Sweden in advancing human rights.
During the discussions, both parties emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation, particularly in promoting human rights and addressing shared priorities, and highlighted Sweden’s continued support in this area and the Ministry’s commitment to advancing these initiatives through joint efforts.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister Al-Makhzoumi reiterated the Ministry’s dedication to increasing women’s participation in social affairs. She emphasized the critical role Somali women can play in the development of social infrastructure, with a commitment to ensuring inclusive progress through effective partnerships.
The talks concluded with a shared commitment to deepening collaboration and pursuing tangible outcomes to advance human rights and social development in Somalia.
