MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Monday held phone talks to discuss efforts to further boost cooperation on key areas, including defense and energy.
“President @HassanSMohamud spoke by phone with President @RTErdogan of the Republic of Türkiye,” Villa Somalia said in a statement on X.
“They discussed enhancing strategic cooperation between the brotherly countries, including energy, and defense. President Erdogan reaffirmed Türkiye’s support for Somalia’s territorial integrity, unity, and counter-terrorism efforts. They also discussed Türkiye’s positive role in Somalia-Ethiopia mediation.”
