Somalia’s president meets Russian ambassador Mikhail Golovanov

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Monday received at his office Russian ambassador to Djibouti and Somalia Mikhail Golovanov as Mogadishu revives historic relations with Moscow.

“His Excellency President @HassanSMohamud today received the Russian Ambassador to Djibouti and Somalia, H.E. Mikhail Golovanov, at the State House,” Villa Somalia said in a statement on X.

“The meeting focused on a range of topics, including security, social, and humanitarian issues. The President expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Government and people of Russia for their generous support in Somalia’s HIPC debt relief process.”
