MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s government arrested high-ranking military officials in connection to the theft of rations meant for Danab commandoes trained and equipped by the United States, Defense Minister Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur told Universal TV on Saturday.
The government received the news of the stolen rations donated by the United States about two weeks ago and caught a number of military officials red-handed last week, adding that their case will be handed over to the military court.
Asked about number of detained military officials, Nur said he could not give any numbers and that due to an ongoing investigation more officers could be detained.
