MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Salah Ahmed Jama, along with the Internal Security Minister, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismael (Fartaag), and the Somali Police Commissioner, Sulub Ahmed Firin, laid the foundation stone for a new police transit center in Mogadishu on Monday.
The facility is intended to serve as a hub for police officers from various regions undergoing training in the capital city, as well as those traveling abroad for further training.
The construction of this new center is a significant step in enhancing the capabilities of the Somali Police Force. The facility will provide accommodation and resources for officers from different regions of the country, fostering a sense of unity and collaboration among the police force.
It will also offer support to those who are preparing to travel abroad for advanced training, ensuring they are well-equipped to learn new skills and techniques to better serve their communities.
During the foundation-laying ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama highlighted the importance of this project in strengthening the security sector and improving the overall safety of the Somali people.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the police force in their efforts to maintain peace and stability in the country.
Internal Security Minister Abdullahi Sheikh Ismael (Fartaag) also spoke at the event, expressing his confidence in the positive impact the new transit center will have on the police force’s ability to carry out their duties effectively.
