Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Salah Ahmed Jama presided over the handover ceremony of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, where H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi formally handed over leadership of the Ministry to H.E Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh.
“Minister Hosh is well experienced in internal affairs, local governance and more. It is my belief that the experience he brings with him will immensely benefit the work of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation,” Deputy PM Salah said.
“We are focused on achieving the priorities of the government of Somalia by using inclusive politics. At this time in Somalia’s history, it is crucial that we stay away from divisive politics,” Minister of Interior said.
H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi touched on the various achievements of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, from drought response and national stabilisation to establishing the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) and the Nation Identification and Registration Agency (NIRA) and more.
“Today, we thank Minister Fiqi for his impeccable leadership and hard work, and we welcome the new Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation H.E Ali Yusuf Ali to his new office,” State Minister of Interior, Sadad Alio said.
In attendance were Federal Ministers of Security, Youth, Water and Energy, Labour and Ports, as well as the leadership of the Somali Disaster Management Agency, the National Identification and Registration Authority and the National Commission for Refugees and IDPs.
