Addis Ababa, (SONNA) – Ahead of the February 2025 elections of the African Union Chairperson senior leadership, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs commenced an extraordinary session at the African Union Headquarters to consider the report on the preparation for the election and the Ambassador of Somalia to the AU participated.
The Ambassador of Somalia to the African Union, amb. Abdullahi Mohamed Warfa attended the meeting and discussed the Somalia’s candidacy for the AU chairperson in the 2025 elections, emphasising a commitment to women’s participation and outlining inclusive action plans for crisis resolution.
Fowziya Haji of Somalia is running for the senior leadership of the AU, which is elected to serve for a term of four years, with the option for re-election.
