Addis Ababa, December 2, 2023 (Addis Walta) Ethiopia called on partners to support its effort to get sea access at COP28 conference in Dubai.
On the sidelines of the 28th International Climate Change Conference (COP 28) held in Dubai, a discussion of landlocked countries was held.
Ethiopian Finance Minister, Ahmed Shide, underscored Ethiopia’s strong position on the matter of sea access, at the conference attended by leaders of eight landlocked countries and UN Secretary General Antonio Gutierrez.
Ahmed Shide pointed out that landlocked countries spend large amount of budget on transport and logistics every year. To make matters worse, these countries are also vulnerable to the effects of climate change which hamper their endeavor for development and growth.
