MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – An American contractor was injured in an attack by the Al-Qaeda-aligned Al-Shabaab militant group on military base in south Somalia’s Kulbiyow town, senior defense official told VOA on Sunday.
The official confirmed that One US contractor and a member of partner force were injured in the assault which took place two days ago, saying Al-Shabaab claim that 4 US soldiers wounded was “overblown.”
He told VOA Pentagon correspondent Carla Babb, who is with the delegation of Defense Secretary Lloud Austin in Djibouti, that the United States military was not behind an airstrike that killed 8 civilians in Burdhuhunle town in south Somalia’s Bakol region.
