MOGADISHU, Somalia – The National Security Agency (NISA) has released the names and photos of some of the leaders of Al-Shabaab who were killed in the latest operations carried out by the government forces, which are supported by international friends.
A press release issued by NISA said that the agency has been closely monitoring the activities and information of the leaders who have been killed and others who are still on the run and hiding in the jungle.
The leaders presented by NISA are:
1. Sheikh Abdullahi was the leader of al-Shabaab from area Number 50 to Buufow area in the Lower Shabelle region, and he was killed in the Awdheegle operation.
2. Ali Timajilic was the health leader of al-Shabaab in the Jailani section operating in the Lower Shabelle region. According to the government, this leader joined Al-Shabaab in 2012.
Since 2017, he has been operating in the Lower Shabelle. He was killed in the Awdheegle operation.
3. Bashir Dheere was the leader of al-Shabaab operating in the Bula-Marer area and he was the leader of the group called Macalin Salahay, he was killed in the Awdheegle operation.
4. Abdiqafar, who is known as teacher Nadara, joined al-Shabaab in 2009. He was part of the Mogadishu guerrillas, especially the killings department, then he was added to the department they call the heavy hitters who carry out the attacks.
According to NISA, he was the leader of Al-Shabaab in the Lower Shabelle region, who was killed in the Awdheegle operation.
5. Shaaciye Mohamed Ali, known as Kufridid, was a leader of explosives in the Lower Shabelle region, he was killed in the Awdheegle operation.
6. Sakariye Mohamed Bashir, known as Cadnan or Sandheere, joined al-Shabaab in Mogadishu in 2011 and worked mostly in the division they call heavy hit.
Among the positions held by this leader is what they call sexism.
Now he was the deputy commander of the explosions in the Lower Shabelle, he was killed in the Awdheegle operation.
7. Leader Ahmed Ali Dahir Shuuke, is a man who has been in al-Shabaab for a long time and has done various tasks, but now he is part of the leaders tasked to mobilize the community so that al-Shabaab can find other young people to fight.
This leader was killed in an operation near Bulacle in Galgaduud region.
