MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – At least two soldiers were killed and a number of others wounded after Al-Shabaab militants attacked a police station in Kahda district in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Tuesday night.
The cracks of gunfire and loud explosions were heard throughout the city shortly after midnight on Tuesday after militants stormed a police station in Kahda district and a nearby security checkpoint. The insurgents also ambushed a convoy racing with reinforcements in Dharkenley district.
Militants also attacked troops stationed in Jazeera, Elasha and Arba’ow on the outskirts of Mogadishu overnight, but casualties have not been immediately known.
It comes hours after a suicide car bomb targeted a compound housing security forces in charge of the security of Mogadishu in the city’s Industrial Avenue.
