MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s army on Tuesday captured the villages of Osweine and Budbud in the central region of Galgadud as troops, under the cover of US and Turkish air support, advance from multiple directions into Al-Shabaab-held towns of Elbur and Galhareri, officials said.
It comes a day after troops seized the town of Wabho linking the central regions of Galgadud and Hiran.
An image shared by Villa Somalia showed Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and army officials discussing plans to recapture territory still under the control of militants in Galgadud region.
