MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Authorities in the northeastern semi-autonomous region of Puntland on Wednesday stopped an advisor for Somali president from boarding a flight to the capital Mogadishu.
Somali President’s advisor for Trade and Investment Khadar Abdirahman Farole, who is also the son of former Puntland leader, was blocked from traveling to the capital Mogadishu, in a move that triggered chaos at Garowe International Airport.
It came days after a regional prosecutor issued an arrest warrant for four politicians, including Khadar over accusations that they had instigated violence aimed at disrupting controversial vote.
