Istanbul, Turkiyé, SONNA)-: The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Daud Aweis Jama, joined the Head of Media and Communication of the Republic of Turkiyé, Prof. Fahrettin Altun, at the official launch of TRT AFRIKA, a new digital branch of TRT World that will focus on the African continent.
The launch of TRT AFRIKA comes as part of a broader effort to strengthen ties between African countries and Turkiyé. The new channel will broadcast programs on a variety of topics, including politics, business, art, culture, science and technology, youth, and sports.
Somalia is one of the countries that will benefit from the programs and news that TRT AFRIKA will broadcast to the African continent and the rest of the world.
The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism also participated in the 1st Conference of the African Union Media Association and TRT, where the strengthening of relations and cooperation between African media and TRT was discussed.
The strong and growing relationship between Africa and Turkey is a foundation for mutual cooperation, as highlighted by Somalia’s Minister of Information, Daud Aweis, during the meeting. “With 38 African countries having embassies in Turkey and 44 Turkish embassies in Africa, the significance of this partnership is clear.
Over the past 12 years, Somalia and Turkey have made great strides in their cooperation, and this success is a testament to the principle of mutual benefit that underpins the Turkiyé-Africa relationship.” He added.
