Addis Ababa, February 22, 2023 (Walta)- Water and Energy Minister of Ethiopia, Habtamu Itefa (Ph.D) noted that the Nile Basin countries must choose cooperation to effectively utilize the Nile water.
Speaking at the 17th Nile Day celebration in Nairobi, Kenya, the minister emphasized that only cooperation helps to secure common interest and benefits from the Nile water.
Habtamu expressed his appreciation to Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda for ratifying the Cooperative Framework Agreement and call on the rest of the member states to ratifying the Framework.
Out of eleven member states, six of them signed the framework and only four of them ratified it.
