Mogadishu, (SONNA):- Somali Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre on Tuesday opened a meeting of the Somali Banking Union to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing Somali banks.
He highlighted the role of Somali businessmen in the national economy, particularly the unified payment program, and emphasized the need for reliable banks for economic development.
Prime Minister also noted the government’s three-pronged fight against the Kharijites (Al-Shabaab), and urged Somali Banks to aid in preventing money used for crimes and to harm Somali people.
Additionally, he urged them to invest in economic infrastructure, such as ports, to create opportunities for the people.
