Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, emphasized that the DanQaran administration has approved agreements and legislation aimed at enhancing the capacity of government institutions, particularly in advancing the country’s economic development.
Speaking at a handover ceremony between the new Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, H.E. Dahir Shire Mohamed, and the outgoing Minister, H.E. Abdirizak Omar Mohamed, the Prime Minister underscored the ministry’s crucial role in implementing the government’s plans for oil extraction.
“We want this ministry to pave the way for establishing a sound economic direction for the Somali people—one that is inclusive and sustainable—especially given the prolonged period of instability and the collapse of essential infrastructure in our country,” said Prime Minister Hamza.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the outgoing Minister for his dedicated service to the nation and extended prayers for the success of the new Minister in tackling the significant responsibilities ahead.
